Suspects shoot at police vehicle

Just before midnight Friday, a Vicksburg police patrol unit responded to a call of shots fired into a home in the 900 block of Harris Street.

When the unit pulled up, the shooters shot in the direction of the patrol car, according to the watch commander, presumably to slow the police car and make their escape.

Upon inspection there were no indications of damage to the police car, and the officer was uninjured. The officer was able to provide a description of the shooter.

The officers name has been withheld upon request.
