SWAC postpones football and all fall sports until spring


The Southwestern Athletic Conference has officially postponed all fall sports to until the spring of 2021 including football.
SWAC officials made the decision Monday. The postponement is due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases that have hit the nation and the athletic world hard.
Fall sports include football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and cross country. Those sports will be played after the beginning of 2021, which is better that the seasons being canceled all together.
The postponement of the season will have an affect on three universities in Mississippi: Alcorn State University, Jackson State University and Mississippi Valley State University, historically Black colleges and university members of the SWAC.
