Sweet potato giveaway at Uptown Vicksburg

Extra Table and United Way provided surplus sweet potatoes to be distributed to the community, which is happening today at the Uptown Vicksburg mall on Pemberton Blvd.  The produce is absolutely free and anyone is welcome to pick up a bag of delicious, fresh sweet potatoes.

Warren County Supervisor Kelle Barfield said Friday that she feels fortunate to be able to get produce into the hands of the community and to “support healthy cooking and healthy eating.”

Supervisor Shawn Jackson is also organizing a distribution of a portion of the sweet potato surplus, so keep an eye on her Facebook page today for details as she is very good about communicating with the public through social media.
