At a hearing this morning, Warren County Court Judge Marcie Southerland reduced the bond for Talisha Butler from $500,000 to $50,000.

The charge against Butler, first degree murder, was not reduced.

Butler is accused of shooting Christopher Johnson, 37, after an altercation that took place Wednesday, July 15 behind Boston Fish Supreme on Clay Street. Johnson died at the scene.

“There are mitigating factors in this case, and she has a 1-year-old,” said District Attorney Ricky Smith when asked about the case.

The DA’s office did not object to the reduction, calling it an “unusual and rare” circumstance.

Butler is represented by attorney Mike Bonner.
