Tallulah man arrested for murder in missing person investigation

A man has been arrested for the murder of Pamela Oliver in Madison Parish, Louisiana.

Wednesday, Louisiana State Police detectives, with the assistance of the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested Curtis Carroll, 42, of Tallulah, charging him with second-degree murder.

On Monday, Aug. 10, LSP detectives were contacted by the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to a missing person. Oliver, also of Tallulah, was last seen Saturday, Aug. 8. She was reported missing the next day. On Tuesday, Aug. 11, Oliver’s body was located in an area of farmland in Mound, Louisiana.

Through investigative means, detectives determined that Carroll murdered Oliver and discarded her body along the tree line.

He was booked into the Madison Parish Jail.

Before Oliver’s murder, Carroll was a suspect in an arson investigation by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. During the murder investigation, Carroll confessed to the fire and will be charged by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
