Teenage victim identified in Monday morning’s shooting in Warren County

Ethan Powell, 18, has been identified as the victim in Monday morning’s homicide in Warren County, according to Coroner Doug Huskey.

The shooting occurred just after midnight. Warren County deputies found Powell laying in the street on Abraham Drive with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Sheriff Martin Pace. Huskey pronounced Powell dead after he was transported to River Region Medical Center.

Powell’s body will be autopsied at the Mississippi State Crime Laboratory.

The search for Powell’s killer continues. Investigator Sam Winchester is leading the investigation on behalf of the sheriff’s office.
