LUCEDALE, MS (WLOX) – The woman accused in the murder of George County Sheriff Garry Welford has been indicted for the crime.
A grand jury indicted Brandy Williams, 19, for capital murder. She and Chris Baxter were arrested July 22, 2010. One day earlier, Sheriff Welford was struck and killed as deputies were trying to stop the pair.
Williams is set to be arraigned April 7. Baxter is still in custody, but has not been indicted.
