Temperatures are predicted to drop down to the mid-30s next week with rain possible on Monday.

The current forecast with the National Weather Service in Jackson has temperatures in the mid to upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday. Monday is forecast to drop to the mid-70s for the high with a 20 % chance of precipitation. Wind gusts will accompany the possible rain and lower temperatures. It will dip into the mid 40’s overnight on Monday.

Tuesday will be cold and blustery with wind gusts as high as 20 mph. Tuesday it will clear up but temperatures will drop into the low to mid-30s.

Wednesday and Thursday will have highs in the 60s and overnight lows in the 30s.

Now is the time to check fuel supplies and test heating systems for efficiency.

The first cold snap of the year is also a high-risk time for fires dues to people using equipment that has been stored since last year.
