“Thank you,” Brandie McMullin extends gratitude for community support during difficult time

Brandie McMullin, wife of Chad McMullin, thanks the community for its outpouring of support during this time through various donation outlets including a very successful Go Fund Me.

The Go Fund Me was set up by friend of the family, Pam Pugh shortly after Chad McMullin passed. Pugh had known Brandie McMullin’s family for 36 years, and planned the wedding of Chad and Brandie 23 years ago. “We truly are family,” said Pugh.

When making the Go Fund Me, Pugh had no idea how well it would go: “I didn’t know what to expect,” Pugh admitted. In just over a week, the page raised $12,900. “It has been unreal,” said Pugh.

Along with the Go Fund Me, Pugh put the word out that donations could be dropped off at Delta Bank where she works. Altogether, she helped raised $22,000 for the McMullin family. “God had prepared people to rally around in this time of need. It has been just amazing,” said Pugh.

In response for all the support, financial and otherwise, shown by the community, Brandie McMullin expressed her heartfelt thanks:

“My family and I want to take the opportunity to thank the Vicksburg community for their outpouring of support and comfort during this time. We are at a loss for words, nor do we even know where to begin in thanking everyone. People that we do not even know have given to help our family. Thank you to all those who have given to our Go Fund Me and also to those who gave money through Delta Bank on our behalf.

The community has rallied around us during this tragic time, and we truly feel their prayers and love. Our Warren Central High School family has been so wonderful by checking on us and making sure that we have what we need. Sheriff Martin Pace and his deputies were so kind to our family. They took time out of their busy and demanding schedules to touch base with us and provide support. We also appreciate the staff at Glenwood Funeral Home for being so helpful and accommodating. So many people loved Chad and Glenwood did a fantastic job of coordinating and planning for the large number of people.

The Vicksburg community really comes together in times such as these, and God has blessed our family more than we could have ever imagined. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers in the days ahead.”

The community support echoes the sentiments of Pam Pugh who stated, “I truly care and enjoy helping folks.”

While the Go Fund Me has ended, donations can still be dropped off at Delta Bank.
