The Big South Conference postpones its 2020 football season

The Big South Conference has postponed all fall sports, including the 2020 football season, due to COVID-19 concerns.
Big South Commissioner Kyle Kallander made the announcement Wednesday in a statement.
“We are all broken-hearted that we will not be able to provide competitive opportunities for Big South student-athletes this fall,” Kallender said. “However, the path forward must protect the health and safety of our student-athletes, and some of the current trends and unknowns with COVID-19 have made that a huge challenge. Our intention is to shift these fall seasons to the spring as we would like nothing more than to crown Big South champions in all 19 of our sports this year.”
The Big South Conference is making plans to play sports in the spring for those athletes who are affected by the recent change. The league has not made the official announcement on the change yet, but a statement is expected to be made in a matter of days.
