The Bluffs and Shady Lawn offer Halloween treats for kids and residents
If you’re worried about the weather and want to do something good, consider taking your little trick-or-treaters to a local nursing home Thursday night.
One of the biggest challenges facing senior citizens and those with medical challenges is loneliness. This is a great way to bring some joy into the lives of our fellow citizens.
Two Vicksburg nursing homes will open their doors to children Oct. 31 to visit and get their fill of Halloween treats.
Shady Lawn Nursing Home will open its doors at 4 p.m. to allow the little ones a chance to visit and get some candy. Shady Lawn is located just off of Porters Chapel Road at 60 Shady Lawn Place, near the Porters Chapel Academy.
The Bluffs, at 2850 Porters Chapel Road, will allow the kids in at 6:30 p.m. to get candy from the residents there. It is located near the intersection of Indiana Avenue.
Community members have offered to donate candy to the nursing homes so the residents can have plenty to offer the children.
