The longest reigning English monarch, Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, Sep. 8 at the age of 96. Queen Elizabeth spent 70 years on the throne.
According to Buckingham Palace, the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral. The Queen was under medical supervision due to health concerns from her doctors.
All of the Queen’s children are reported to have traveled to Balmoral. Prince Charles, her eldest son, will now become King, making his eldest, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge heir to the throme.
