The Strand Theatre previews new movie

The Strand Theatre (717 Clay St., Vicksburg) announces a special showing of the new movie “If These Porches Could Talk.”
The show begins at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 10. Select cast members and filmmaker Travis Mills will be on hand for a Q&A session after the screening.
“If These Porches Could Talk” is the second installment in the Strand’s “Porches and Private Eyes” movie series. This time, it’s Halloween and our Southern Belles are in pursuit of the supernatural.
While dining at their favorite lunch spot, Porches Restaurant, of course, the new sheriff (Kelly Porter) arrests Patsy (Marlene Cupit) as an accomplice in an attempted murder. And who’s the intended victim? The husband of her best friend Jenny (Holly Bonney).
Now, Patsy’s husband Randall is accused of the crime and in jail, and the victim, Brennan, is in a coma. It’s up to small town detective Ann (Sadie Hebert) to figure it all out. When another innocent bystander is almost killed in Hattiesburg, the mystery hits the road from there to Natchez, Port Gibson and Yazoo City. With the help of their mysterious new friend, Ben Pickers (Bill Perkins), and old buddies like Charlotte (Martha Arrington), the ladies are in for quite a ride.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Buy Advance tickets at Highway 61 Coffeehouse (1101 Washington St) or online at http://porches.brownpapertickets.com/.
