These abandoned cats need homes ASAP

Published

A colony of about 40 cats has been abandoned because their owner has major health issues.

All of the cats are spayed or neutered and there is NO adoption fee for good homes. They are all adults, and no kittens are available.

The responsibility has been left to the City of Vicksburg Animal Shelter and Paws Rescue. They can make appointments for you to come see the cats, but they are in desperate need of homes for them.

“Most will make great inside/outside cats, some will make great inside cats, and the others will make good barn cats,” Kacie Tingle Lindsey, director of the Vicksburg Animal Shelter, wrote in a social media post earlier this week.

“This is a physical and financial burden on both the shelter and the rescue caring for these animals. The property is going to be sold by the family and we need them moved into great homes immediately.”

Please bring an animal carrier with you to your appointment if you plan to take one of these babies home with you.

To see additional photos of the cats, visit Kacie Tingle’s Facebook page. If you’re interesting in adopting a cat, contact the City of Vicksburg Animal Shelter at 601-636-6982 or PAWS Rescue at 601-529-1535.
