Thieves attempt to steal ATM machine from Mutual Credit Union
The Vicksburg Police Department responded to an ATM alarm early Tuesday morning at the Mutual Credit Union at 4210 Clay St.
When officers arrived at the scene shortly before 5 a.m., they found a forklift parked at the drive-thru, with the forks above the ATM machine.
Two suspects fled from the police on foot into the woods where officers lost them.
Reportedly, the thieves had stolen the forklift from a work site at the nearby Junius Ward Johnson YMCA and had attempted to steal the entire ATM machine from the credit union property.
This is an ongoing investigation.
