Third annual Academy Showcase features high school students’ projects and achievements

Students in the Vicksburg Warren School District spend hours at school learning to perfect their skills and test their minds. Part of the way high schools students learn is through college and career academies designed to ignite the students’ passion for lifelong learning and to provide interesting, relevant and meaningful education. The academies bring depth and relevance to high school education as educators, employers, and community leaders come together to facilitate real-world projects, experiences and opportunities for students.
The third annual Academy Showcase will be held at the Vicksburg Convention Center (1600 Dr. Briggs Hopson Blvd.), Jan. 15 starting at 3 p.m., featuring students from Vicksburg High School, Warren Central High School and River City Early College High School.
At this event, students will show off the projects that they have worked on throughout the previous semester as well as the achievements they have made during their time in the Vicksburg Warren College and Career Academies.
The Showcase is free to attend and you can R.S.V.P. by contacting the Vicksburg Warren College and Career Academies on Facebook.
Find out more about the academies by visiting the Vicksburg Warren School District website or the Vicksburg-Warren Partnership website.
