Third suspect in custody in deadly Fayette Street shooting

The Vicksburg Police Department has arrested the third suspect in the shooting death of Demetric Lamar Clark.

Clark, 36, was shot in the head around 12:50 a.m. Sept. 21 on Fayette Street. Police believe he may not have been the intended victim.

Officers arrested Eric Lee Clayton, 28, around noon today at a Redhawk Road residence.

He is being held on a charge of second-degree murder in the Madison County Jail without bail pending his initial court appearance, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Two other suspects are already in custody for the murder. Police arrested Demarcus Qualls and Elijah Qualls Sept. 25. They are being held in the Warren County Jail on $1 million bond each.
