Thompson returning to lead the Viking offense

The Warren Central Vikings football team is in summer training, and they have a major offensive threat returning from last season with running back Kentrick Thompson preparing to lead the team in the upcoming season.
Thompson led the Vikings in rushing last season. He finished with 573 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. He also managed to rack up 222 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
The Vikings relied heavily on Thompson last season when it came rushing, but they also had a decent passing game. Now that their top receiver, Demond Patton, has graduated, the Vikings will most likely need Thompson to step up again this season to lead the offense.
Thompson helped the Vikings to a 6-6 season last year under head coach Josh Morgan. He is expected to make a great impact for WC this season, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Thompson will be running behind an offensive line that is returning four out of five starters from last season.
The Vikings have already begun voluntary workouts and are preparing for the Red Carpet Bowl, scheduled for Aug. 21.
