Chris Lockridge is a criminal investigator for Warren County and works with the District Attorney, Ricky Smith.

Lockridge was born in Vicksburg but went to kindergarten in Oklahoma. His family moved back to Vicksburg where he attended Bowmar, Vicksburg High and then Hinds.

He married the love of his life, Khelli, at age 20. Charity, Kelsey and Little Chris came along soon thereafter. After Hinds, Lockridge went to seminary. He is currently working on his Doctorate at Slidell University.

Lockridge started preaching in 2005 and has preached every Sunday since 2012. “My momma did not play. Get up and go to church,” explained Lockridge. “Of course, back then I hated it.”

Lockridge gives his mother, Hester full credit for his faith and sense of discipline. He went on to raise his three children the same way. “They would get mad at me in elementary school, but I was raised like that and so were they.”

After a short time as an insurance salesman and a teacher’s assistant, Lockridge returned to law enforcement working locally with the Sheriff’s office before becoming a criminal investigator for District Attorney Ricky Smith. “I’ve been here since day one in 2008.”

A criminal investigator for the District Attorney helps to gather the evidence needed to successfully prosecute a case.

“This job is extremely stressful, but it is beyond rewarding because I get to help people. My favorite scripture in the Bible is when Jesus was talking to Peter. He told Peter before the cock crows you will deny me three times,” said the preacher. “Jesus said, Peter, I will pray for you that your faith doesn’t fail. When you’re converted, strengthen your brother. So I’m big on doing things to help strengthen people who are less fortunate. I am thankful to be in a position to be able to help people.”

Lockridge goes on to compliment Ricky Smith saying, “The type of person Ricky Smith is, he says everybody doesn’t need to go to prison. Some people need help. I’m big on trying to help people.”

Lockridge smiled and said, “I guess I just preached a sermon.”
