Thousands still without power after Wednesday night storm
Warren County was hit by a storm late Wednesday night that took out power for thousands of area residents.
The storm blew in after 9 p.m. with strong winds and driving rain. Trees were felled all over the Vicksburg Warren County area taking out power lines. By 10 p.m. close to 5000 Entergy and Twin County consumers were in the dark.
Roads were closed due to trees being down or power lines being across the road in several locations including Vicklan Road, 5th North near Grove, Cherry Street to Dewitt, the 800 blocks of Howard Street and Dana Road near Highway 61.
Crews have been working overnight to restore power and clear trees from power lines however many roads remained closed and over 3000 are still without power.
Allow plenty of time for travel this morning and use caution near crews working to restore power.
