Three men remain at large after escaping from the Covington County Jail Wednesday.

Dillon Parr, 21, Alexander Knight, 32, and Christopher Love, 30, escaped together through a skylight around 10:45 p.m. Jan.15, Sheriff Darrell Perkins told WLBT.

“There was a sheet they had tied together during the night and climbed up the skylight and opened it up and went out. They bent the bars at the top, and therefore, they escaped,” Perkins told the station.

A jailer saw one of the escapees as they were running away, and deputies immediately began a search.

The trio stripped down to T-shirts and boxers as they fled.

“They had no shoes when they left the jail. They had flip flops, but they lost the flip flops. They pulled their pants off, their inmate issued pants, and their shirts. They dropped those,” Perkins said.

WLBT listed the following information for the escapees:

  • Parr, of Mt. Olive, is charged with manslaughter in the November 2018 shooting death of his neighbor, Christopher Hand.
  • Knight, of Seminary, is facing one charge of commercial burglary.
  • Love, of Hattiesburg, was being held at the jail on a court order

If you have any information on the escapees’ whereabouts, please call the Covington County Sheriff’s Office at 601-765-8281 or dial 911.
