Three Eagles named All-MACCC for 2021
Three key pieces to the Hinds Eagle baseball team’s playoff run in 2021 have been named all-state by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.
Sophomore catcher Pablo Lanzarote, of Venezuela, was named first-team all-state. Lanzarote batted .336 for the season and led the team in homers, with 13, and slugging percentage, .723. On defense, his 295 putouts were good for 20th nationally.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Bryce Brock, of Hernando, and freshman infielder/outfielder Matt Corder, of Madison, were named to the second team. Brock went 5-4 on the mound during his team-leading 53.1 innings pitched. His 2.53 ERA was good for 12th nationally.
Corder’s .458 batting average led the team among players with at least 100 at-bats. He added 27 RBIs and also went 2-0 with one save on the mound as a right-handed pitcher.
