Three indicted on murder charges in Warren County

Three people were indicted for murder during the August term of the Warren County Grand Jury.
Clarence Lowe
Clarence Lowe has been indicted for the murder of Karl Michael Singleton.
On Oct. 19, 2020, at about 5:40 in the afternoon, Singleton was shot on Enchanted Drive in Vicksburg. He died as a result of his injuries a short time later at Merit Health, River Region.
On Aug. 6, 2021, Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones held a press conference to announce a warrant had been issued in connection with the murder.
John David Shoemaker
John David Shoemaker was also indicted for the April 2022 murder of Sheila Hedrick.
In April, authorities were alerted to a possible deceased body at a home in the 200 block of Leland Drive.
Warren County deputies responded to the call and arrived to find Sheila Marie Hedrick, 48, dead. Sheriff Martin Pace stated she was found with at least one gunshot wound.
Several hours later, authorities arrested John Shoemaker, 62, and charged him with first-degree murder.
Jeffery Young, Jr.
Jeffery Young, Jr. was the last to be indicted after being accused of shooting and killing his father, Jeffery Young, Sr. His mother, Tracie Young, was also indicted on an accessory after the fact.
On July 5, Warren County Sheriff’s Department was alerted by a 911 call of a shooting in the 6000 block of Castle Road. Responding deputies found Young, Sr. in his front yard suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics arrived and shortly thereafter summoned Warren County Coroner Kelda Bailess who pronounced the victim deceased.
Young, Jr. and Tracie Young were taken into custody and booked within a few hours of the crime.
Those indicted may obtain legal counsel if they haven’t already done so. Trial dates are expected to be set soon.
