Three Mississippi HBCUs win $50,000 grants from Home Depot

Three Mississippi colleges have won $50,000 each in Home Depot’s Retool Your School grant program.
Jackson State University and Tougaloo College in Jackson, Miss., and Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Miss., were each selected by their community’s votes. In all, 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities were selected for the grants, and millions of the schools’ supporters cast ballots.
The Home Depot strives to give back to our nation’s HBCUs what they have so generously given to their communities: a strong foundation, renewed purpose, and distinctive character.
Since 2009, Retool Your School has provided more than $2.6 million in campus improvement grants that allow HBCUs, to make sustainable improvements to their campuses.
