The Vicksburg Daily News has confirmed with the City of Vicksburg and the business owner that a new KFC Flagship restaurant is being built on the South Frontage road. During the conversation with owner Miller Rials, he also announced a new Steak ‘n Shake restaurant will be built by the end of the year.

The Flagship type KFC is the newest design from KFC and features all the top-of-the-line options and will be one of only 5 currently open in the world. “It will sit on a large lot with an extended drive-through and plenty of parking. We are also speaking with interested parties to build two new hotels on the property,” said Miller Rials, a business partner of the locally owned KFC that is operated by Delish Brands.

The new KFC lot sits between the Circle K at Indiana and South Frontage road and George Carr Cadillac.

Construction is currently underway to level the 8-acre site. “It will be level. We’re going to move that dirt around and the KFC and the hotels will be level with the road” explained Rials.

Construction should be complete on the KFC by the end of summer.

The new Steak ‘n Shake construction should start in July at the location next to Sonic on 61 North.

The new Steak ‘N Shake will be more like the original concept found in 1934 with counter service. “It will be a lot faster and efficient. You order and pick up your food at the counter. Just like you would at a KFC,” Riles commented. “Of course, it will have drive-through service as well.”

Once both operations are up and running the old KFC building on Indiana will be converted to a family-style restaurant he is naming “Miller’s.” Miller’s will feature a traditional American breakfast, plate lunches, a sandwich line and a salad line. Or at least that is the plan right now.

“We are having so much fun coming up with the full menu for Miller’s. We’re putting our name on the business and want to provide Vicksburg with the best” beamed an energetic Riles. Construction on Miller’s will begin in late 2021 or early 2022.

If you are interested in working with the rapidly growing business or have an interest in developing the land adjacent to the KFC, Rials encourages you to email him at Miller.Rials@delishbrands.com.
