Three people shot last night in Warren County

The Warren  County Sheriff’s Office is in pursuit of a man accused of shooting three people late last night.

Sheriff Martin Pace says that his deputies responded to a report of a disturbance with shots fired just after midnight Sunday in the 100 block of Countryside Road in the China Grove community.

As deputies were gathering information from a large number of people at a bonfire there, a report came in from the emergency room at Meritt Health River Region that two people had arrived suffering from gunshot wounds. A third victim arrived at the hospital before deputies could reach it. All three had reached the ER by private vehicles.

Two of the victims, both males, were subsequently transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, one by air ambulance and the other by a Vicksburg Fire Department ambulance. A female victim remains at Meritt Health. Their conditions have not been released.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect and a warrant is being issued this morning.

The suspect remains at large as of this writing.
