Three suspects charged with aiding in Alcorn County Jail escape

Three suspects have been arrested for aiding the escape of four inmates from the Alcorn County Jail, WLBT reports.

Ana Ruiz, 29, Yira Sauceda, 25, and Elias Jimenez, 21, have been arrested and charged with felony aiding of jail escape.

According to the report, four Alcorn County inmates, Antonio Reyes, Hunter Wiginton, Landon Braudway and Samuel Sims escaped from Alcorn County Jail on Aug. 5 by cutting a hole in the roof.

Ruiz and Sauceda were arrested on Aug. 5 by Alcorn County authorities and were given a $10,000 bond. Jimenez was taken into custody in Baton Rouge that same day. He and 3 of the escaped inmates are awaiting extradition.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be made.
