Timothy Miers Smith

Timothy Miers Smith died Sunday, August 4, 2019. He was 58. Tim was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was the son of the late C. Warfield Smith and Corean Pinkston Smith. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Mississippi State University. Tim was a former member of Vicksburg Kiwanis Club and the Vicksburg Jaycees. He served as a chairman for the Miss Mississippi Pageant for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Tim retired in 2012 from the City of Vicksburg as purchasing director after 28 years of service to his community.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Murray Pinkston and Corean Stafford Pinkston; his paternal grandparents, Minnie Devore and Bert Smith; and three nephews, Hudson Stafford Smith, Chade S. McCardle and Michael Perrier.

He is survived by his siblings: John C. Smith, James W. Smith (Melanie), Carl W. Smith, Jr. (Stacey), Susan S. Perrier, Corean S. McCardle, Steven D. Smith (Amy), and David S. Smith (Ashley), and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 713 Crawford Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180 or to Vicksburg Catholic Schools, 1900 Grove Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183.
