Todd Gee sworn in as U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Mississippi
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bennie Thompson is pleased to announce that Mr. Todd Gee was sworn in today as the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Mississippi. This swearing-in comes one year after President Biden’s nomination of Gee.
“I have had the privilege of knowing Todd for a considerable amount of time, witnessing first-hand the maturation of a committed, brilliant legal mind,” said Congressman Bennie Thompson. “Having observed his journey, relentless pursuit of justice, and the development of his legal acumen, I can say with absolute certainty that Todd is the right person for this job. The Southern District of Mississippi is gaining a leader with not just expertise, but with a deep understanding and respect for the law and the community he is set to serve.”
Mr. Todd Gee comes with a rich history of serving the nation. Since 2018, he has served as the Deputy Chief of the Public Integrity Section of the United States Department of Justice. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 2007 to 2015. With a Senate vote of 82-8 backing Gee’s appointment, the Southern District of Mississippi is set to benefit from his considerable experience and unwavering dedication to justice. This appointment is a positive step forward for the people of Mississippi. Gee’s experience and dedication to justice will be invaluable in overseeing the TANF fraud case and ensuring that justice is served.
