Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Port Gibson

On March 24, 2023, Officer KieVontae Dotson of the Port Gibson Police Department along with Officer Ephraim Drake, Chief Russell Dorsey, & Officer Adam Wells made a traffic stop that lead to the arrest of a black male identified as Taylor Weaver of Evergreen, Illinois.

PGPD seized $1,217.00 along with about 50- packets of marijuana products. Also confiscated was a couple of scales and cigars as well as a backpack to carry & distribute the narcotics.

“Drugs lead to violence. I stand firm on keeping our streets clean from drugs and violence. My department and I will continue to take every measure to make sure our citizens are safe,” said Chief Dorsey.
