Trees down, Walmart without power and scattered power outages around the area

Power outages and trees down have been reported in the area.

Just before 9 a.m., Vicksburg Daily News was alerted to a tree down along Interstate 20 West between the 8 and 9-mile markers. Both lanes were blocked but MDOT managed to clear one lane and are working on the other.

A reader also reported trees down on Fonsylvania Road around this time. This has not been confirmed by VDN.

Among the roadway dangers, several areas around the community have reported no power, including Walmart.

Entergy shows multiple outages scattered throughout the county. Estimated restoration times range from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
