Tropical Storm Barry on track to visit Vicksburg

If last night’s cloud show was any indication of what is to come, we are in for quite a show.

Tropical Storm Barry is projected to come right at us in the most recent forecast. The predictions for rainfall are estimated at 6 to 10 inches, but that estimate is ever changing. Any way the storm goes, we will have several inches of rainfall on us by Monday. An already flooded Mississippi River will rise again and the Backwater in the South Delta will probably rise.

The Media Day event in Valley Park scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.

In Vicksburg, the Second Saturday event and the Farmers Market are both planning to be held in the northern parking structure.

UPDATE: Second Saturday let us know that Second Saturday will not be moving into the parking garage. The event has a rain plan, and will be announcing a move, if necessary, on its Facebook page Friday.
