Kimble to run for mayor of Vicksburg

Published

Warren County Constable Troy Kimble will be running for mayor of Vicksburg on the democratic ticket, challenging incumbent George Flaggs, Jr.

Kimble was with the Vicksburg Police Department for nearly a decade beginning in 2005. He was appointed to serve as county constable in 2014 after the death of longtime lawman Randy Naylor. He left that position after being named the assistant police chief in Clarksdale in 2018.

Troy Kimble ran for North Ward Alderman in 2017 but lost to Michael Mayfield Sr. He returned to Vicksburg in 2018 where he won his constable position back. Kimble also serves as a lead investigator with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department.

Over the years, Kimble has worked to help keep the City of Vicksburg safe and has worked on huge cases involving murder and burglaries.
