Truck accident on I-20 east bringing traffic to a stop

Just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a motor vehicle collision was reported on Interstate 20 eastbound between Washington Street and Halls Ferry Road in Vicksburg.

Two 18-wheelers were involved in the collision and one is overturned in the roadway. There are minor injuries reported in the accident.

Multiple Vicksburg Police units are on scene. Traffic is being diverted to U.S. Highway 61 South.

The Interstate eastbound is at a standstill.

Expect this to take at least two hours to clear up.
