It will be dangerously cold all day Tuesday and Tuesday night with a low near 18 degrees. Winds up to 20 mph will create a wind chill in the single digits.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for our area until Wednesday at noon. The icy conditions will remain during that period of time. Unprotected pipes and waterlines will freeze and likely burst during this hard freeze.

Wednesday temperatures will venture above freezing into the 40’s and may be accompanied by light rain. Temperatures will drop again Wednesday night to near or below freezing with a chance of a thunderstorm before midnight.

The local impact will be freezing temperatures into Wednesday and a thunderstorm Wednesday night that may exasperate already weakened trees and power lines. There is a 90% chance of precipitation Wednesday night with rainfall of 1 to 2 inches possible.

The thunderstorms will return on Thursday dropping more rain on the area and then temperatures will drop below freezing again Thursday night.

The Vicksburg Daily News will keep you up to date on weather and road conditions in Warren County during this period.
