No less than 24 athletes from Claiborne, Warren, and Yazoo counties are headed to compete at the national level in the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Fla. from June 5 to 11.

Area director Pauline Vessell and Sandy Hearn, assistant director, have done an excellent job connecting athletes with resources and raising funds to ensure that each of these talented athletes will have a chance to compete.

Special Olympics athletes display remarkable abilities not only on the field, but in all areas of life. By celebrating their dedication and perseverance, we become champions for a more inclusive world. A world where we all Shine As One.
