Two from Vicksburg arrested in Arkansas with over 9 lbs of marijuana

Two Vicksburg residents were arrested in Arkansas with over 9 lbs of Marijuana.
On Friday, Jan. 27th at approximately 9:00 p.m., Desha County Sheriff’s Deputy Reshawn Bledsoe made a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. Highway 65 one mile south of Dumas, Arkansas.
Upon approaching the vehicle and smelling the odor of Marijuana, Deputy Bledsoe conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. Inside the trunk, Deputy Bledsoe located 8 large vacuumed sealed bricks of Marijuana, that weighed a total of 9 lbs 6 oz, with an estimated street value of $85,000.
The drugs were purchased in Dumas and were bound for Mississippi.
Arrested are 44-year-old Patrick Chambers, and 29-year-old Kacee Hyland, both of Vicksburg, MS. Both are being charged with Possession of Marijuana with the purpose to deliver.


Desha County Deputies have stated they have video surveillance of the persons and vehicle that the drugs were received from, and the investigation will continue.
