Mississippi State women’s basketball coach Vic Shaefer’s announcement that he would be leaving the program shook the basketball world. Now, two MSU players may also transfer.

Freshman Jayla Hemingway officially entered the transfer portal Monday, shortly after the announcement of Schaefer’s departure. Hemingway was the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year when she played at Houston High School where she averaged 22.7 points per game.

Another Bulldog, Chloe Bibby, announced her intention to transfer on Twitter. Bibby is a junior from Australia who led the Bulldogs in three-pointers last season, while averaging 7.5 points per game.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 27-6 record under Shaefer, who has led MSU’s Lady Bulldogs to much success over the years. Mississippi State is now searching for its next head coach for the program.
