The Warren County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two suspects wanted for murder in Monroe, Louisiana.

Jesse James Thomas, 21, and Cassie Makala Drummond, 21, both of West Monroe, are suspected of murder in connection with a shooting that took place in Monroe Friday, August 14.  The victim reportedly succumbed to their injuries and passed away Saturday.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and deputies Johnny Beauchamp and Dusty Keyes located the wanted pair hiding in a closet of a family member’s home on Perry Circle in northern Warren County Sunday afternoon. Officers found a backpack containing a 9 mm handgun believed to be the murder weapon. Also in the backpack was an assortment of drugs including Xanax, ecstasy, THC edibles and a package containing a substance believed to be heroin.

Thomas and Drummond waived extradition and are being transported to Monroe Monday to face second-degree murder charges. One or both suspects will return to Warren County at a later date to answer to drug charges.
