Two people shot, several horses killed in Yazoo County

According to Yazoo County Sheriff Jacob Sheriff, two people were shot and several horses were killed in a shooting in Yazoo County on Friday.

Sheriff told WLBT the incident took place between Vaughn and Pickens at a local horse track on Thomas Road around 6 p.m.

One victim was transported to Merit Health in Madison and the other taken to UMMC in Jackson. Of the two victims, one remains in critical condition, according to Sheriff.

No suspect or motive has been determined at this time.
