Two promoted within the Vicksburg Fire Department

Two members of the Vicksburg Fire Department were recently promoted during a ceremony held in their honor.

Duncan Wright was promoted to Lieutenant and Marlin Nickson was promoted to Captain on Wednesday. Their family, friends and members of the community showed up to witness the event. Mayor George Flaggs Jr., Southward Alderman Alex Monsour and Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield Jr. were also in attendance.

Along with the Mayor and Board of Alderman, Fire Chief Derrick Stamps Sr. and Associate Fire Chief Trey Martin shared a few words.

Wright and Nickson have served the Vicksburg community proudly and VDN wishes them the best in their new role within the VFD.
