Two suspects in custody for Clark murder; one still at large

Vicksburg Police have now arrested two people involved in connection with the murder of Dematric Lamar Clark on Friday, Sept. 21.

Police arrested Elijah Eugene Qualls Jr., 20, of 60 Smallwood Drive, Demarcus James Qualls, 21, of 163 Kidd Lane, both were charged with second-degree murder and weapon possession by a felon.

They appeared today, Sept. 25, in the Vicksburg Municipal Court before Judge Angela Carpenter who set their bonds at $1 million each.

The motive for the Clark murder is still unclear. At this time, police do not believe Clark was the intended target; however, he was struck and died from his injuries.

Vicksburg Police are also looking for a third suspect who will be charged with this murder. A warrant has been issued for Eric Lee Clayton, 28, of 1414 Martin Luther King Boulevard for the same charges as the other suspects.

Elijah Eugene Qualls, Jr. has also been charged with shooting Marlon Robinson in the neck on June 22.
