Two suspects in custody in connection with trooper’s murder

Two suspects were taken into custody in Louisiana overnight in connection with the shooting death of Mississippi Highway Patrol Lt. Troy Morris, WLBT reports.

Early Friday morning, Morris was at his second job driving a U.S. Postal Service truck in Jefferson County when he was shot and killed. He was a 27-year veteran of the MHP.

The U.S. Postal Service and Crime Stoppers offered $105,000 for information leading to the arrest of Morris’ killer.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, MHP, and sheriff’s offices in Jefferson Davis and Adams counties are working the case.
