Two VHS Gators make college choices official

Cedric Phillips and Marquise Blackmore have now officially signed to play football on the next level.

Phillips signed to play at Hinds Community College where he will join plenty of local athletes who have also recently chosen Hinds. Phillips finished his senior season with 1,231 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, and he was a great example of a leader on the field.

Blackmore chose to sign with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, the No. 1 ranked Junior College for football in the country. Blackmore was one of the lead blockers for Phillips and the rest of the Gators on the offensive side of the ball. On defense, Blackmore was known for getting through the line to bust up plays and getting to the ball carrier.

Both Phillips and Blackmore have been starters for the Gators over the past few seasons, and they are now set to take their talents to the next level.
