Three Vicksburg children recovered; Slidell police still searching for Eric Rawlings

The Slidell Police Department is continuing to search for Eric Rawlings Jr., who is accused of kidnapping two children.

3-year-old Tamerikaya Rawlings and 5-year-old Benyaaqob Rawlings of Vicksburg were both reported missing on Sunday and were believed to be with Eric Rawlings Jr. and Ronneisha Evans. A newborn baby was also recovered and being evaluated at a hospital, according to Assistant Police Chief Troy Kimble.

SPD recently went live in a Facebook post, stating that they have secured the two children, but the male suspect fled. The female suspect was also captured.

Slidell Police believe they are closing in on Eric, and Little Oak Middle School, as well as Boyet Jr. High, have been given a shelter-in-place order.

Eric Eugene Rawlings Jr. is described as a black male, five feet ten inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. Ronneisha Evans is described as a black female, five feet three inches tall, weighing 110 pounds.
