Two Vicksburg runners up for Sprinter of the Decade, and your vote counts

MileSplit Mississippi Track Madness is taking votes for the top boys Sprinter of the Decade.
Two runners from Vicksburg are on the list: former Vicksburg High School track star Terrell Smith and former St. Aloysius standout DeMichael Harris.
Four runners are on the ballot, and the fans’ votes will determine who advances.
Smith is a 2014 graduate of VHS where he shined in both track and football. He was a four-time state champion in the 200 meter and two-time state champion in the 100 meter. Before leaving high school, Smith was ranked as the No. 1 sprinter in Mississippi.
He earned an athletic scholarship from Kansas State University to run track. Smith ran all four years at KSU where he was Second Team All-American and the first player from KSU to be an All-American in the 200 meter.
Former St. Aloysius star football player and track runner DeMichael Harris is also on the ballot to win the Sprinter of the Year award. Harris won the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools track championship in 100, 200 and 400 meters in his 2016 senior year at St. Aloysius.
Harris went on to Hinds Community College to play football for two years before committing to the University of Southern Mississippi where he finished his last season as a Golden Eagle in 2019. He now plays in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts, as he was signed as a undrafted free agent in April.
