United way blessed with 44 pallets of sweet potatoes

The United Way of West Central Mississippi is going to have a busy day, as the service area was blessed to receive a total of 44 pallets of sweet potatoes.

“We have Partnered with Extra Table and Extra Table has blessed our service area with 44 pallets of sweet potatoes,” stated Michelle Connelly with United Way of West Central Mississippi.

This gift translates to thousands upon thousands of sweet potatoes to be given and is being distributed via churches, non-profits and elected officials.

The event is not open to the public, instead they are distributing to area resources to ensure an even distribution.

City of Vicksburg employees are assisting with the unloading.
