Porter’s Chapel Academy head softball coach Chandler Upton is stepping down from her position and moving to Arkansas with her husband who accepted a new job.

The announcement came on Wednesday once PCA officially made the announcement.

“We would like to thank Coach Upton for her time and commitment to our athletic program as both our head softball coach and an assistant basketball coach,” PCA Athletics Director Blake Purvis said. We appreciate
her positive attitude and the character she displayed as a role model for our female athletes. We would like to wish Coach
Upton and her husband,Cameron, the best of luck in their new endeavors, and pray for
God’s guidance as they take this next step in their lives.”

Upton helped the Lady Eagles to a district championship in 2019 along with a state championship appearance in her first year. One of her players from that season, Hannah Embry, went on to play at Pearl River CC and now the University of North Alabama.

Upton is a former Vicksburg High softball player who eventually signed East Mississippi CC and Mississippi Valley State University.

At this time, Upton has not accepted another coaching position and PCA not announced her replacement.
