USM announces Sun Belt dates for 2023 schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – A pair of midweek road Sun Belt Conference contests highlight the league portion of the 2023 Southern Miss football schedule dates released Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles will play at South Alabama, Tuesday, Oct. 17, and will meet at Louisiana, Thursday, Nov. 9, for the squads only two non-Saturday games this fall.

After three-straight non-conference games to start the season, a meeting at Arkansas State, Sept. 23, kicks off the second season of Sun Belt football for the school. The Golden Eagles then play the next two weekends at home against Texas State (Sept. 30) and Old Dominion (Oct. 7). The ODU game serves as homecoming for the school this fall.

After travelling to South Alabama next during the midweek, Southern Miss stays on the road for its second-straight game, Oct. 28, at Appalachian State, before entertaining ULM the following week at The Rock, Nov. 4.

Following the Thursday night game at Louisiana, Southern Miss ends the regular season with a Nov. 18 tilt at non-conference Mississippi State, before ending with a home affair against Troy, Nov. 25.
Game times and television designations will be made at a later date.
