The Vicksburg Convention Center (VCC) announced nominees for inaugural Jester of Vicksburg.

The planning committee has nominated seven people for the community at large to vote. The nominees were selected for their involvement in philanthropies, community events and for their love of Vicksburg.

Nominees are: Mike Calnan, Pat Cashman, Lynn Foley, Ruby Green, Danny Hearn, Launo Moore and Fermika Smith. An online voting poll has been set up to tally the votes. The Jester will be announced during the Jester’s Ball Feb. 12.

Ballots will be available online until Feb. 10.

Erin Southard, VCC Executive Director said, “We are just blown away with the response so far of people wanting to reserve a VIP table before the tickets are even on sale. I think we already have 10 tables so far. The committee and the VCC team are getting super excited for what is sure to be a night to remember.” The planning committee consists of Carson Berch, Kimberly Smith, Walter Osborne, Kim Hopkins and Southard.

VIP tables are still available for $300 to attend the ball for those wanting to come out and support their favorite Jester. General admission tickets are $25 and single VIP tickets are $35 in advance. After Feb. 1 tickets will be $30 for general admission and $40 for VIP. Tickets will be available at the Convention Center box office or ticketmaster.com starting Jan. 14.

For more information please contact the Convention Center box office 601-630-2929.

The VCC is looking forward to welcoming attendees and wants to reassure everyone they are taking every reasonable precaution to promote a safe and healthy environment.
